Topic: Enhanced catalytic CO2 hydrogenation via layered double hydroxides-derived CoCuAl catalysts

This work reports the development of LDH-derived CoCuAl catalysts for efficient CO2 hydrogenation to long-chain hydrocarbons. By tuning the Co/(Co + Cu) ratio, the product distribution can be directed toward enhanced C5+ selectivity. The catalyst design integrates reverse water–gas shift (RWGS) and Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) functionalities through synergistic Cu–Co interactions, enabling CO2 conversion into value-added hydrocarbons within a single system. Advanced characterizations, including XPS and in-situ DRIFTS, reveal the key electronic interactions and surface intermediates responsible for this performance. These findings provide valuable insights for designing multifunctional catalysts for sustainable CO2 utilization.
